Egg Donor FAQ's

May I donate eggs if I have never been pregnant?
Yes.

Can I still be an Egg Donor if I had my tubes tied?
Yes.

How long will it take for me to be matched?
Unfortunately, we cannot determine when you will be matched. We will provide your profile to all prospective parents who request it. If you are chosen, you will be notified immediately.

Will I meet the prospective parent/s?
Depending on the type of donation you choose, you may or may not meet the prospective parents. Each arrangement is unique, if you want to meet the prospective parents and they agree, then YES, you will meet. If you do not wish to meet a prospective parent, you will never be asked to do so. You determine what level of contact you feel comfortable with prior to being profiled with our agency.

How long does the egg donation process take?
Once you have been chosen by a prospective parent and agree to work together, it takes 8-12 weeks to complete the screening process, contracts, donation cycle, and undergo the retrieval procedure. The actual cycle is usually completed within 6 weeks.

Is it painful?
The retrieval is a simple procedure that takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes. You will be in twilight sleep for the procedure. You may have some cramping that can usually be relieved with Tylenol.

Surrogate FAQ's

Can I still be a surrogate if I had my tubes tied?
Yes.

Can I become a surrogate if I have never given birth?
Unfortunately not, we require that our surrogates have at least one natural born child.

May I become a surrogate if I am not married?
Yes.

May I become a surrogate without my spouse or partners support or consent?
No, your spouse or partner must know of your intentions and be willing to support your efforts to become a surrogate.

Will I meet the prospective parent/s?
Yes, you will meet the prospective parents before you agree to work together.

Will the baby be genetically my child?
Most Surrogates and Intended Parents choose to use eggs from either the Intneded Mom herself or an Egg Donor, so there is no genetic tie to you. It's really up to the Surrogate and what she is comfortable with.

Intended Parents FAQ's

What can your agency do for me?
We offer egg donor and surrogate matching services including: finding your ideal egg donor or surrogate, coordinating screenings, and following all medical appointments. We will be available to you, the egg donor, and/or surrogate during the entire process. We will guide you from start to finish.

What information will be given to prospective egg donors?
That depends on which program you choose. A prospective egg donor in our Open program will be given a brief synopsis of you and your desire to work with her. She will not be given personal information, names, or photos until you agree to work together. In our Closed program, the egg donor will be notified that you are interested in her profile. She will only be told your gender and relationship status. The egg donor will not receive your personal information, names, or photos. All of the egg donors and prospective parents are listed anonymously in our filing system.

Will the couple and the surrogate meet?
Yes, meeting the surrogate allows both sides to make sure that the arrangement will work. Most of our couples stay in contact with their surrogate frequently during the pregnancy. Even after the birth, many couples still stay in touch with their surrogates (X-mas cards, birthday cards, etc.), although for most couples and surrogates the relationship ends after the baby is born.
